Just got back from my teaching assistant job. Today was the first day of school for the students and the first day that I actually got to do anything. It was so much fun and I think I’m really going to love this experience and learn a lot from it. I got to meet all my 3rd graders and go out to recess and lunch with them. They’re all such cute kids. I like just getting to observe them in their classrooms and see what their teachers are up to. I get to decorate my own little desk area however I want and start getting to work with the students on their reading. I’m really glad that this job is during the mornings. Even if I don’t like waking up that early, it’s completely worth it and after I’m done with work, it just feels nice to know that I can focus on getting my classes or anything else done. My coworkers are very nice and it’s just a fun and happy environment to be working in. I don’t feel stressed out or overwhelmed. It’s completely managable and sometimes it doesn’t even really feel like I’m working and actually getting paid to do this. It was a great first day and I can’t wait to just go through the entire year getting to know the students and enjoying my job.

Today is also the first day that I actually have a class to go to. It’s in a couple hours and I gotta leave soon for the train to get to campus. Hopefully it goes well, I’ve been reading over the syllabus and so far it seems like a pretty good class. It’s strange being busy again…I’m definitely not used to this yet!
